- Do not to apply makeup for up to 24 hours after your treatment to allow the skin to fully absorb the products used in your treatment.
- Do not pick, pull or touch your face post treatment to allow your skin to settle.
- Do not exfoliate the skin for 2-3 days post treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure as much as possible. We always recommend the use of sunscreen to prevent sun damage to the skin. Sunscreen with SPF 30 or above should be used daily. If you are under the sun for prolonged periods of time, sunscreen needs to be reapplied at least once every two hours.
- There is no downtime required for most of our peels (except the Deep Sea Peel) and you can resume normal activities immediately. However you should avoid strenuous exercise and/or swimming for 24 hours.
IMMEDIATELY AND FOR 72 HOURS
- Avoid sun exposure and use strict sun protection strategies (daily).
- Avoid hot showers and sauna’s and exercise that induces sweat.
- Avoid exfoliating and highly fragranced products; certain skin care ingredients: artificial colours, alcohols, lanolin, petrolatum, chemical sunscreen, benzoyl peroxide and hydroquinone.
- Non-recommended makeup and skincare products.
- All Vitamin A products.
- Products containing AHA’s and BHA’s.
- Anti-wrinkle and injections and dermal fillers.
- Avoid skin treatments of all varieties: peels, laser/IPL, facials, skin needling and microdermabrasion.
- Do not scratch, pick, pull at or abrade the treated area.
DAYS 4-7 POST TREATMENT
- Avoid sun exposure and use strict sun protection strategies.
- Avoid exfoliating and highly fragranced products.
- Commence normal skincare routine as deemed safe.
- Avoid skin treatments of all varieties: peels, laser/IPL, facials, skin needling and microdermabrasion.
- Do not scratch, pick, pull at or abrade the treated area.
DAY 7 ONWARDS POST TREATMENT
- Avoid sun exposure and use strict sub protection strategies.
- Waxing, electrolysis and depilatory procedures and also bleaching or hair dying in the area of treatment needs to be avoided for 2 weeks post treatment.
- Peels, microdermabrasion, epidermal levelling, home needling and dermal fillers need to be avoided for at least 2 weeks post treatment.
- IPL/Laser Rejuvenation, in clinic skin needling, fractional ablative, full ablative laser and surgery in the area of treatment needs to be avoided for up to 4 weeks post treatment.
- Avoid applying heat to the waxed area for up to 12-24 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam.
- Avoid sun tanning for 24 hours. This includes any strong U.V. light exposure or sun bed treatments.
- Allow 24 hours before use of any Glycolic treatments or Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA’s).
- Avoid applying highly fragranced products to the waxed area. This includes perfume, scented body lotions, antiperspirants, cosmetics, or feminine hygiene sprays. Only use professional products, recommended to you by your skin therapist who performed your waxing service.
- Avoid using harsh abrasives or exfoliators in the waxed area. If you are prone to in-grown hairs, loofah, gloves or exfoliant scrubs can be used only once the hair has begun to grow back.
- Avoid applying high SPF sunblocks to the waxed area for 12-24 hours after your waxing service. Sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to the newly waxed skin. This includes self-tanning products and tan accelerators.
- Any pinking of the skin should disappear within 6-8 hours after your waxing treatment. Slight pinking is normal, and indicates that the hair was removed from the root, rather than superficially broken off, as in shaving. This is the reason that professional waxing lasts for so much longer.
- For best results, repeat your professional waxing every 4-6 weeks depending on the area and your individual hair growth rate.
- Drink plenty of water to assist the body’s detoxification process. This will help to avoid headaches caused by the toxins released during the massage.
- Avoid eating a heavy meal after your treatment. Try to keep the diet light while the body is using energy for healing.
- Avoid further toxins and stimulants such as smoking, alcohol, drugs and coffee.
- Avoid heat treatments & applying further products to the skin, as it may be sensitive.
- Avoid strenuous exercise to allow the body to use its energy for healing.
